Naughty Dog is one studio that is famed among fans for the stories they deliver and characters they portray. The year 2016 has been a massive year for them as they finally released the fourth installment of the Uncharted universe and also announced the new title that fans have long wanted. The envisions rolled out with reality as they announced The Last Of Us Part 2. But what about Uncharted 5?
As we have already witnessed Uncharted: A Thief’s End was a huge success for the Uncharted world, developers have tried to solve yet another puzzle with the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Though the game is rolling out in August, fans do want another round of speculations to be real with some new characters as portrayed in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The Uncharted 5 Game has long, long been into the speculative world, turning out to be almost a kind of wishful thinking on behalf of fans and was therefore previously an enigma.
But no more; at the Eurogamer interview writer and creative director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Shaun Escayg answered some of the interesting questions dragging out a possibility of Uncharted 5 to be a reality. If an Uncharted game, the one that was initially started as a DLC, can turn out to be a full-fledged title, then why not the Uncharted 5 game! It is surely a possibility for the series to venture further as informed by Escayg.
When asked if the Lost Legacy game is the end of the franchise, offering a definite closure, he stated that this Uncharted world is massive. And with numerous characters woven into it, the developers can fill the spaces with every possibility concerning the characters. And that has already been witnessed in the coming game’s trailer where creators have further portrayed Chloe and Nadine’s (two of the side characters previously seen in the franchise) storyline.
It’s certainly clear that if at all developer Naughty Dog builds an Uncharted game further, then Nathan Drake will not be the central character as there was a proper conclusion of Drake’s story in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The aftertaste might continue with the depth of Chloe and Nadine, but we leave that to our eminent developers to decide.
Is Uncharted 5 officially been announced?
Readers if you are hoping for the Uncharted 5 game to be officially announced, then please hold your horses. Escayg has just made a statement on the possibility of the game which suggests that it might get into the development. But no official announcement is available till now as the studio is busy with the production of their upcoming Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and are at a slower pace for their next project lined up The Last of Us 2 and expectations from this game are massive.
While it has been clear that Uncharted 5 may not be happening with the previous protagonist Nathan Drake, the fact that there are numerous possibilities to be explored makes the wait for the next game in the series all the more exciting. Wait for more updated news with fingers crossed.
